What’s been happening:

Leaving Penn State in 1965 my new precious bride and I moved to Chicago where I took a entry position with A.C. Nielsen. After about 5 years, including 2 moves and 2 children, I changed companies and went with CPC International. Three years later not wanting to see my life morph into the 7 to 7 commute and grind in NYC, I decided on another change to RTI International, then known as Research Triangle Institute in the Research Triangle Park of North Carolina. Thirty years later I retired as a middle manager survey director after enjoying a lively time recruiting, hiring, training and managing thousands of data collectors on a wide range of research projects. I probably should mention that the whole family worked part time for Miles Wolff and those minor league maniacs at the Durham Bulls; the kids for 8 years or so while in grade school, high school and as Tar Heels in Chapel Hill and Janet and I for 18 years selling tickets with our dear friend Maxine Tillman. Married 44 years now (to the same woman I first met when we were 15 years old) and having 2 great kids and 6 super grandchildren, I guess the best part is that I sort of did it "my way." Never without some kind of job since I was 11 years old when my coal miner dad died, I guess my only regret is that he didn't live long enough to see what happened to me.
